My heart for you

It's hard, cold and sour.

So. First thing first. A couple of years ago I created a character whom some of you who've been following my work know by now. His name's Tristan.

Long story short. Tristan had been a very poor and very sick boy in the early 1800's. By 16 years old he had become so sick he didn't want to live anymore and he was slowly dying of tuberculosis. Decided to end his life himself, but failed because his sister found him too soon and made him a vampire in the hope he'd live long enough to, one day, find happiness...

The apple. I have made this character a lover of apples, especially granny smiths. I've never really thought about this, but I assume since he's always longed for the life he never had, apples remind him of it.

So, a year ago, I saw (and started reading) the book twilight and instantly it's cover reminded me of Tristan... And ever since I wanted to do a picture similar with Tristan holding his very dear granny smith apple and his wound he learned to live with.
